Hunting abroad · Bezoar ibex and Anatolian wild sheep

Turkey

High-mountain hunting in Anatolia, a few hours' flight from Europe.

Turkey has become one of Europe's most sought-after mountain hunting destinations in recent years. Hunting is organised by the state under strict quotas, and population management has produced notable results.

The most sought-after species is the bezoar ibex, hunted in the Taurus mountains, typically between 1,500 and 2,500 metres, over several days of stalking. This is the most physically demanding programme we offer.

The Anatolian wild sheep and other wild sheep subspecies are also subject to quota. Wild boar, by contrast, carries no quota limit and can be arranged at short notice, including as a driven hunt.

Licences for the quota species are allocated by ministry draw, so applications should be submitted six to twelve months ahead. Dates are confirmed once the draw result is known.
