Hunting abroad · Chamois and roebuck in the Julian Alps
Slovenia
Four to five hours by car, mountain hunting with dependable organisation.
More than half of Slovenia is forested and game management is tightly regulated. The grounds are small and thoroughly known, which makes the hunt easy to plan: the professional hunter usually knows where the selected animal is.
Chamois can be hunted in the Julian Alps and the Karawanks, along with roebuck, red deer, mouflon and wild boar. In the Dinaric areas brown bear is also possible, under a strictly limited quota and a separate permit.
Hunting takes place on state-managed ground in the company of a professional hunter. Mountain stalking demands good condition, but roe and boar hunts can also be arranged on easier terrain.
Seasons vary by species and by year, as cull plans are set annually. Exact dates are agreed at the time of booking.
