Hunting abroad · Beceite and Gredos ibex

Spain

Hunts take place between 1 November and 15 February. Four ibex subspecies live in Spain – Beceite and Gredos carry the largest horns and body size.

Beceite ibex – unlike the Gredos, the horn tips do not turn in by 180 degrees. It lives in north-eastern Spain, in the Beceite and Tortosa mountains. An average of 200–224 CIC points is achievable, meaning roughly 55–75 cm horn length; by prior arrangement we also hunt capital trophies over 80 cm with good chances. Every guest is assigned to ground matching their fitness.

Gredos ibex – here the horn tips turn in by 180 degrees. The hunt demands very good condition, as the right areas are reached only after several hours on horseback; good mountain boots are recommended. Five hunters can hunt the area at the same time. The season is best from November to the end of January; from February the hunting becomes easier. The best rut runs from late November to late December.

Programme: direct flight from Vienna to Madrid, where our partner meets guests and helps with the entry paperwork, followed by transfer to the hunting area. Depending on fitness we offer two areas: the first is 2.5 hours from Madrid and demands very good condition, the second is easier ground.
